Welcome to the summer Input Bulletin. We'll be showing how our insight events can help you stay ahead of the game, sneaking a look at some recent projects and explaining why we're hooked on Geordie Shore (all in the name of work!)

What we've been up to:
––
Branded the Big Splash, a huge initiative between BBC Sport and British Swimming.
––
Launched 'The Studio', a new digital arts service on PlayStation Network.
––
Held a series of insight events with speakers from Wallpaper, Arts Council England and Contagious.
––
Started exciting new projects for Syco Music, Tate and Westfield London.
––
Offered consultancy to MTV to help exceed a week one target of Facebook 'Likes' by 500% for Geordie Shore (yes!)

Digital events
As part of our insight series we recently held two successful events at the Aubin Cinema in Shoreditch. Bringing together leading industry figures, we heard about key issues surrounding digital marketing, content and services – and how brands communicate successfully online. We had brilliant talks from the likes of Wallpaper, Contagious and Arts Council England, while attendees from the BBC, Sony PlayStation, Habitat, Universal Pictures, Olympus and EA Games contributed to lively debate. New Head of Digital, Dave McDougall, introduced the Studio Output / Digital offering and our belief in brilliant ideas, beautiful design and invisible, smart technology.

Insight in Nottingham
The digital events went so well, we're back for more and hosting an afternoon event for design buyers and marketing managers in Nottingham on Wednesday 8th June. There's a fantastic line-up including GDR, Ocean Outdoor, Tamar and Mainframe – and we've still got a couple of spaces left on the guestlist. Sam Allen, our Head of Business Development, has the magic clipboard – so email sam.a@studio-output.com or download a PDF if you'd like to come along.

Talks
Creative Director Rob Coke is speaking at the Youth Marketing Strategy event in London on Thursday 16th June. We've been allocated some reduced price tickets for friends of Studio Output, saving you £150 off the full price. Click here to book.

Insight reports
As well as holding events, we also put together regular Insight Reports covering trends and industry insight relevant to the sectors we work in. In recent months we've produced reports on the drinks industry and assessed how great British brands are capitalising on the current world focus on our little island. If you'd like to receive these monthly reports on trends within branding and marketing communications, email Sam and we'll make sure you're on the list. To view previous reports, visit the Inspiration page on our website and download the PDFs.

The Big Splash
Last year, BBC Sport and British Swimming invited us to create a branding scheme for the Big Splash, the biggest ever campaign to inspire the people of the UK to swim. The biggest challenge was appealing to people of all abilities and ages, 'from 8 to 80 and beyond.' Click here to find out more about this exciting project.

SpongeBob SquarePants clothing range
Staying in the water, we've been working with Nickelodeon to create a new graphic look for the iconic SpongeBob SquarePants character to be used in an international style guide. The patterns and character poses will be used on everything from t-shirts to headphones. Click here to see them.

1Xtra DJs and show branding
And speaking of headphones, we've recently revised the whole look and feel for BBC 1Xtra's show branding. The stripped-back scheme focuses on big, bold type and loud colours. Click here to see it.

Pitcher & Piano branding
Loud colours are the last thing you can expect to see next time you visit your local Pitcher & Piano. Helping to rediscover the personality that made them great, we've given the branding an overhaul – with elegant colour palettes and a strong heritage theme. Click here for more.

Source website
Source Personnel's heritage theme is recruitment for the creative sector. Or, as they put it, they're 'connected people, connecting people'. They asked us to build them an industry-leading website, and we were happy to oblige. Click here to view the project on our website.

Club 18-30 branding
There are few more obliging people on the planet than a Club 18-30 rep. They're central to the renaissance the organisation is enjoying as they unlock the delights of international clubbing to a new generation of pretty young things. We've just completed a rebrand for this venerable British institution. Click here to see.

Even more work
If you still haven't had enough of these tenuous links, you see loads more new work on our website, including projects for great British institutions like Arts Council England, Minstry of Sound and, erm, Gio-Goi. Visit studio-output.com.

And more to come!
We've got exciting projects for Westfield London under way, as well as something 'mega-top secret' for Syco Music. All will be revealed soon!

We've been busy writing articles for Computer Arts and Computer Arts Projects, contributed to Design Week and seen the Big Splash featured in Marketing, Marketing Week, Design Week and the Drum. Saturday Sessions work for Ministry of Sound appeared in the '3D Type' book and we were proud to see artwork from the last six years with Ministry of Sound on display in their '20:20' exhibition.

After a huge event at Village Underground, where our launch of The Studio with Sony PlayStation was so epic it broke the PlayStation Network*, Glug has taken a short break to recover. But we're back with a bang on 30th June at our usual summer home, Cargo. This event brings together the cream of the music promo industry for 'Make Mine a Music Video'. With some of the best producers in the UK taking the mic, you can expect to be whispering "they're so hot right now" to your neighbour at least once during the evening.

*disclaimer: this is a joke.

July sees UsTwo™, interactive legends and purveyors of all things Wonka, hosting an event. Expect the unexpected. Unless you're already expecting something unexpected, in which case just keep expecting that. (That's too much expectation – Ed).
