This Wednesday saw the launch of The Studio, a collaborative digital art project between Studio Output and Sony PlayStation. The project brings some of the world's most coveted creators of illustration, graphic and digital design including Jasper Goodall, eBoy, Jon Burgerman, Maharishi and Anthony Burrill who have created original works which will be available to download from the PlayStation®Network.
The converted Victorian warehouse of Village Underground in Shoreditch was the setting for the grand unveiling to a sold out crowd. Upon arrival, the guests were greeted with a cold beer, opportunities to have a go on some of the latest releases from PlayStation, and most importantly, a sneak peek at the original and exclusive work from some of the worlds most renowned creatives.
Our very own Dan Moore has curated The Studio and on the night introduced the project and hosted a series of inspirational talks based around the theme of digital art. Alongside Dan, Jasper Goodall, Tomato, Anthony Burrill, Mr Bingo and Marcus Tanner from Sony PlayStation entertained and amazed the audience who, surprisingly for a Glug crowd, were silenced by the content of this once in a lifetime line-up.
As if that wasn't enough, we had Ollie Munden, Will Scobie, Shahnaz Ahmed and Bob London flexing their creative muscle and supplying the live art twist.
The artists featured have created either static or dynamic themes which can be downloaded and used as a backdrop for PlayStation 3 and PSP.
