As part of the East Midlands contribution to the UK Cultural Olympiad, a series of Igniting Ambition showcases and festivals is taking place, funded by Legacy Trust UK and the European regional Development Fund. In 2010 these were in Nottingham, Leicester, Derby and their respective counties; for 2011 the focus moves to Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and Rutland. We were asked to develop our work on last year's publication, offering an 'at a glance' reference and celebrating the summer of festivals.

Our solution uses a bespoke format with a wraparound cover; a cost-effective way of creating an elegant binding. Bright colours, subtle gradients and confident typography lend exuberance to the publication, while the throwout cover reveals photographs of local Olympic hopefuls practising in iconic settings in the region; a stunning crossover of sport and art. The images were shot by John Higgison and used with the permission of East Midlands Tourism.
