Dan Moore judges at D&AD New Blood Festival

Studio Output Managing Director, Dan Moore, judged the ‘Ones to Watch’ category at D&AD’s New Blood Festival yesterday.
12th July 2018

Commenting on the event, he said “It was very interesting to see this year’s New Blood work up close and free of the crowds. I was very impressed by the general standard and variety and in particular the work of Falmouth, Northumbria and Westminster. These three, in particular, had a real edge in terms of craft and finish, and also conceptually stood out – there are some real stars of the future there.”

Particular highlights for me on the day were:

Lucy Scholes
Incredibly varied image-maker of the highest quality.

Smrithi Krishna Kumar
Excellent typography and identity work with a packaging focus.

Loulou Elliott
Expansive paintings full of muted colour and melancholy.

Matthew Chaplin
VR explorations with a service design angle – an interesting mix of gaming and real-world application.

Iman Sedaghat
Really evocative illustration with a gaming flavour.

D&AD’s New Blood programmes are about finding, showcasing and developing fresh creative talent. New Blood Festival is the place where it comes to life, with up-and-coming creatives from around the world showcasing their work.
