We’re hiring a Senior UI Designer

We’re looking for a Senior UI Designer who thrives on bringing brands like Mixcloud, Auto Trader and The Mill to life in a digital space.
19th February 2020

You’re a visually inventive, highly organised and motivated thinker, who thrives under pressure and loves working with people, dealing with clients and articulating ideas. We offer a competitive salary of £45k+ dependent on your experience, a supportive working culture and the opportunity to take your career to the next level.

If you have the skills and mindset we’re asking for below, we’d love to hear from you. Send an introductory email with your CV, salary expectation and portfolio link to rob@studio-output.com

What we’re looking for
  • A strong understanding of responsive design and creating experiences across multiple devices.
  • Good knowledge of user experience and user-centric design (but not a UX designer).
  • Comfortable creating low-fidelity wireframes and crafting pixel-perfect design.
  • End-to-end process, from early sketch and prototype to full-fidelity cross-platform creative.
  • Outstanding typography, layout and composition skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Understanding of brand design and art direction.
  • You translate user and commercial needs into creative and engaging design solutions.
  • Your portfolio demonstrates taking brand character and weaving it throughout every aspect of an experience, from aesthetic through to transitional moments and interactions.
  • You can adapt brand guidelines into strong digital work.
  • You’re an expert in Adobe CS and Sketch.
  • You’re always looking for the latest tools to enhance your workflow and share knowledge with the team.
  • You inspire and nurture junior members of the team, delegating tasks and guiding them through projects.
  • You have experience building scalable design systems and component libraries.
  • You support the production team in scoping projects, gathering requirements and getting to the root of client problems.
  • You’re comfortable creating sitemaps and mapping out the architecture of an experience.

Preferred experience

  • 5+ years experience.
  • From a digital / design agency background, rather than marketing or ad agency.
  • Worked across performance-driven sectors like retail and ecommerce.
  • A good understanding of HTML and CSS – you can effectively communicate with a developer.
  • Prototyping tools like Marvel or Principle, and collaborative design tools like Figma or Zeplin.
  • Basic knowledge of After Effects or similar motion tools to bring ideas and interfaces to life.
  • Experience in product design and service design would be the icing on the cake.
